Leslie

Happy Birthday Leslie! We love you!

Happenings

We have been so busy around here. I am doing the accounts payable job, the accounting job, and I've been busy with the photography stuff. Jacob is back into the full thick of things with boy scouts. He starts his shots this week. The case worker said the drug company has been trying to reach me to schedule an appointment, but I haven't gotten any calls. I finally got their direct number and will call them today. Brandon is looking forward to Homecoming. I think he's a little nervous. He's doing great in school and he's taking it a little more seriously this year. Sara enjoys 1st grade. There are a lot of rules to follow, but she follows them, and she is a good helper to her classmates. We went halloween camping this past weekend. It was fun. Sara was a pink cat and Jacob was a Jedi. I will put some pictures on the blog tonight.

The Roarin' 20's

We went to Pam and Todd's 20th Anniversary party last night. We dressed in 1920's fashion. We had loads of fun!

Please excuse the quality of the pictures. We were using Don's new camera and we obviously need to adjust the settings.

Job

Thank you for all of the prayers. I was offered and accepted a job today. It is the perfect job. It will generate the extra income I need and still give me the flexibility to take care of the kids. I am so excited and extremely grateful.

Interviews

I don't think my interviews went very well. The first one was a phone interview and it was incredibly formal considering the informal nature of the position. She told me not to get discouraged if I don't hear anything for a few weeks.

The second was for the photography position and was today. It started out really well and then I blundered a technical photography question. I was embarassed. The job listing said experience wasn't a requirement, but it is a question I should have known and I fear it may have hurt my chances.

I'm opening all of my doors and believe what is meant to be, will be.

We're a little sad

Snow Dollar went back home to Rich's last night. We were all a little sad, but Sara was particularly affected. She cried for 3 hours. She found reminders in everything she saw, including my white shirt (because Snow was white). It was rough, but I know she (the dog) is happy with Rich.

The kids and I are going camping at the Sleeping Bear Dunes with some friends. We're looking forward to a great weekend, and I should have some good pictures to post when I get back.

Mom's still up North. I talked to Dad the other day for quite a while and he and Duke are doing really well. Mom was afraid they wouldn't survive each other, but the "wolf" is doing pretty good.

I'm wishing for a nice weekend for you all.

Job Interviews

Yay! I have two interviews this week. I've been submitting about 6 applications/day for the last 3-4 weeks and hadn't heard anything. Today, I got two calls within 15 minutes. One is for an accounts payable clerk and the other is for a photographer. I hope they both work out.

Dr. Test

Jacob had his 4 hour test today. He did great. He only got a little sick. His doctor's on vacation, so we should have the results next week. We're expecting that he'll fail the test and we can get going with the injections. He goes to the pediatric specialty clinic and it was sad to see all of the sick kids.

Everyday news

I promised Jim I would post more ordinary news....
Mom and Dad made it back and are back into the swing of things. Duke was very happy that they came and picked him up from the kennel. Good news....half of Mom's flowers lived. Sara and I were in charge of watering them. : ) It has been very hot and humid around here. For some reason, my husband refuses to set-up the air conditioner. Jacob's stimulation test is next Wednesday. I thought it was an eight hour test, but it's only 4 hours. Thankfully, it's at Children's hospital and they have lots to keep him busy. Brandon doesn't think I post enough on here about him, so...he has a date on Saturday with a girl he's been friends with all year. They're going to a play at the high school. He was pretty relaxed last week and I'm really proud of the young man he's becoming. Tonight is Aunt Madalyn's surprise party. I'm pretty sure we're all going so it should be fun. Sorry this post is all jumbled.

Jacob

We finally got Jacob in to see the Endocrinologist. He has to go through some tests, but hopefully he will start his injections by the end of this month. He has mixed feelings. Please, keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He's not unhealthy, but it's a lot weighing on a young man's shoulders.

Thanks

Jacob went to summer camp

Jacob left for summer camp today. We'll miss him, but he always has a lot of fun.

Examining Nature

Jacob's secret talent

He's really good at landscape photography.

More Father's Day

Brandon and Michael passing time.

I'm not sure what's going on here
We saw this butterfly on the beach. I had an asthma attack running back to the table to get my camera. Mom chased the butterfly around the beach to tell me where it was when I got back.

Brandon

I would post more pictures of Brandon, but he's hardly ever home. He starts drivers training in two weeks...UGGHHHH! His class ring should be delivered next week. They are all growing up so fast.

What a scruffy dog

We love him!
